Elaisha Stokes is an award winning journalist and documentary filmmaker. In 2014, she was awarded an International Women's Media Foundation Reporting Fellowship and the International Reporting Project's Religion Fellowship for her work in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Elaisha's films appears regularly on The New York Times, VICE and Global Post. Her print and photos have been published by Al Jazeera America, VICE and Global Post.
Elaisha holds a Masters in Journalism from Columbia University, a Masters in Media Production from Ryerson University, and a BSc in Global Development and Agriculture from the University of British Columbia. Her work has been supported by The Nation Institute for Investigative Reporting, The International Women's Media Foundation, The International Reporting Project, The Patsy Preston Pulitzer Grant for Documentary Filmmaking, The New York Emmy Foundation, The Ontario Arts Council and the Columbia-DuPoint Awards.
Elaisha is the Founder & Director of Zetetic Films, a New York based production company.
