Elaisha Stokes discovered her passion for storytelling at the age of 11, when she used her parents’ camcorder to make nature movies in the local ravine. She's been traveling the world in search of great stories ever since. Stokes holds a BSc in Global Resource Systems, focusing on environmental science and international development from the University of British Columbia, and a Masters is Media Production from Ryerson University. Her passion for storytelling has taken her from the jungles of the Amazon to the dusty mines of Zambia. She has produced content for the New York Times, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, CTV, the Discovery Channel, Canadian Geographic, This Magazine, The Royal Ontario Museum, Journalists for Human Rights, Orato and the Centre for International Governance and Innovation. Elaisha is currently based in New York City, where she is completeing a Masters in Documentary Filmmaking at Columbia's Graduate School of Journalism.
